Hospitality
The team at the RDYC takes genuine pride in what they do. Whether you are dropping in for a coffee on the terrace, sitting down to a full dinner with a view across the River Dart, or planning a celebration for fifty, you will be looked after properly.

Good food, good drink, a brilliant location, and a team who care about getting every detail right. That is what hospitality at the RDYC is built around, and it is what every guest should expect to find.

Bars & Lounges
The bar at the RDYC stocks local ales, a considered wine list, and a drinks menu that covers all bases, from a coffee and something sweet on a weekday morning to a cold glass of something well-earned after a sail. There is a bar menu running alongside the kitchen, so if you want something straightforward and quick rather than a sit-down meal, that is well covered too.

The terrace is the star of the show. It looks directly across the River Dart to Dartmouth and out to the sea, and on a fine evening it is one of the finest places to sit in Devon. Families are very welcome, and so are well-behaved dogs. The terrace is open to four-legged guests, though the bar is not. The relaxed atmosphere makes it a good spot for all ages, whether you have just come off the water or you have simply made the very sensible decision to come and spend some time by the river.

Dining & Catering
Phil Almond and the kitchen team cook with local, seasonal produce and change the menu to reflect what is actually good rather than what is always on offer. The result is food worth sitting down for.

The Quarterdeck seats up to 60 for a formal lunch or dinner and doubles as a meeting and event space with full audio-visual equipment and air conditioning. The dining room handles smaller gatherings of between 12 and 40 in a setting that is smart without being stiff.

For larger or more informal occasions, the terrace and marquee open things up considerably. Catering can be tailored to the event, from a standing drinks reception to a full sit-down dinner. If you have something specific in mind, we would rather hear about it and find a way to make it work than have you assume it is too much trouble.

Events & Private Hire
The club hosts private events throughout the year, from birthday celebrations and wedding receptions to corporate away days and sailing club dinners. The combination of the setting, the spaces and the catering team makes it a venue that tends to do the job rather well.
If you are thinking about an event, start with an enquiry and we will take it from there.
