A new style of racing for RDYC – fun and friendly on and off the water – designed for cruisers and families

  • Pursuit racing with individual start times – no crowded start lines
  • Double-handed division (2 crew) and Friends and Family division (> 2 crew).
  • Wednesday evening and Saturday programmes

Some of the details

  • Simple organisation – self timed, no committee boat, no protests
  • Designed for cruising boats – white sails only, no movable ballast, no crew on the rail
  • After racing prizegiving and socials at RDYC
  • Club pontoon available for after racing social

A great way to get on the water more often and enjoy post-race socials in the clubhouse

Important Dates

Saturday, 13th April

Racing commences for the 2024 season (we may well have a practice event in the bay prior to this date, so that members can familiarise themselves with the Corinthian Class style of racing)

To Do

  • Join the Corinthian Class WhatsApp group by contacting Richard Balfry (cruising@royaldart.co.uk) with your name and mobile number, so you can keep up to date with news and developments
  • Complete the online ENTRY FORM
  • Apply for a YTC HANDICAP (f.o.c)

How to Join In

To join in, please complete the online entry form. If you would like to join the ‘Corinthian Racing’ WhatsApp group, please contact Richard Balfry or Mike Mackie.
You will need to apply for an RYA YTC handicap, this is free of charge and uses basic information on your boat, generally obtainable from the maker’s brochure, your sailmaker or data from Google! Here is the link to RYA YTC. Multihulls are welcome, but will need a special handicap estimated by the organisers.
