The Club organises social activities for members throughout the year. In the summer they are closely tied to the various sailing activities. In the winter months they are largely shore-based and are available to non-sailors through a special winter membership.
2009 started with a bang with the club's New Year's Eve party. The aim through the year will be to offer a social programme that satisfies members without exhausting them.
There will normally be a least one other social event each month e.g. an informal evening, dance or music event.
The latest Club Calendar is available as a pdf from the Downloads page.
Every month the Club holds an At Home event. We meet at 19:00 hours with supper at 20:00 hours. Please book a supper (but not if coming for drinks only). At homes are normally on the first Saturday of the month. They are an opportunity for members to meet informally and also prospective members to meet both Genral Committee members and other Club members. Dress code is jacket and tie.
All through the winter there is a weekly programme of evening lectures, sailing and general interest, as well as quiz nights and the occasional Ladies Lunch. Check back regularly for information on new upcoming events.
In the winter months, January to March and October to December, a weekly programme of lectures alternating between subjects of general interest or sailing will be arranged (19:15 lecture followed by a supper at 20:15. Please book supper).
There is a general knowledge quiz night on Fridays at 20:00 hours throughout the winter.
The clubs upstairs room quarterdeck, provides an opportunity for additional events and private functions. Please check the Social Calendar using the links below for other monthly events.
