The Club provides extensive social activities for Members throughout the year, so whether you wish to join with others for organised events or simply enjoy the Club’s bar and restaurant, the choice is yours.
Please see our calendar for all social events we have planned for the next few months. Remember to book early as our events often sell out at an early stage.
During 2015 the Club held many different social occasions including: New Year’s Eve Party, Burns Night, Themed evenings, Music on the Terrace, Trafalgar Dinner, Regatta Cocktail Party, Laying Up Supper and a Fun Casino Christmas Party. To avoid any embarassment, the club has produced a Dress Guidance Note
Additionally on the first Saturday of every month we hold an At Home whereby new members are welcomed and existing members meet up to enjoy socialising at the bar followed by the option of a delicious meal in the restaurant.
During the winter months we invite speakers to the Club every Wednesday at 7.15pm. These comprise lectures with either a boating bias or those of a general nature with supper available afterwards. Recent talks have included catching and cooking fish, Kit Noble's ARC experience, Isambard Kingdom Brunel and sailing kit safety checks. Please click onto the Winter Lectures Calendar for more details.
Friday evenings during the winter are Quiz nights. They start at 8.00pm and as well as exercising the old grey matter they are a great way of meeting people, no need to come as a team - just turn up. Bar Games are also available - please enquire at the Bar.
The Club is fortunate to have an enthusiastic and hardworking Social Committee led by Jane Miller. The Committee tries to ensure the social calendar contains something for everyone. Members who are interested in joining are always welcome, as are any constructive ideas on how to make the club a lively and vibrant place for our members.
