The club has a thriving Cruising Section, with a varied programme of events designed to attract both sailing and power boat members.
Our sailing programme includes short trips upriver as well as the more traditional coastal hops to enjoy the hospitality of other yacht clubs such as Brixham and Salcombe. These events are always well attended, and offer the opportunity for non-sailors to join the party by road. For those of not yet retired, Bank Holiday weekends allow time for longer trips East to the River Exe, or West to the Yealm or Tamar.
We also offer longer cruises in company which, as well as being more fun than sailing alone, offer the less experienced crew the added confidence of sailing with the more experienced. West Country cruises to Fowey, Falmouth, or Helford River are popular, as well as cross channel cruises to the Channel Islands and Brittany. Crew-swapping during day sails is a good way to see another side of sailing and maybe pick up a few tips.
If you want to be kept up to date with our programme, please drop me a line at pforey@sartech.comand I will add you to our email list. Information will also be posted on the club website, and on the noticeboard at the club.

Dartmouth is in the midst of a marvellous cruising area. It is in striking distance of a number of magical places to go to, and with plenty of safe havens. An easy starting point for the Channel Islands and the French coast.
The Club organises a number of events for members to explore all this and to share and extend their experience. The numbers attending these events are steadily increasing and are a measure of their popularity. They are equally enjoyed by experienced and inexperienced. They provide a good opportunity to sail in company for those new to cruising.
