Royal Dart Yacht Club - South Coast Squib Championships - Host


The Royal Dart Yacht Club at Kingswear will be hosting the Squib Class Southern Area Championships on 12th and 13th September. It promises to be an action packed week-end with a series of up to six races being run in Start Bay over the two days and socialising in the club afterwards.

Launching and Berthing

Darthaven Marina, two minutes walk from the club, have generously agreed to help with launching and berthing visiting boats.

Sail Repair Service

A sail repair service will be available from Dart Sails and Covers Ltd. Please contact Simon Unwin, who will be competing, or call him on his mobile 07990507391 after racing on Saturday.

Photographer

There will be an official photographer on the water — Mike Wynne-Powell. He will be showing his photographs on Saturday evening and taking orders then and on Sunday for CDs with all his images on them at £15 a disc.

Accommodation in the Kingswear Area

The Royal Dart Yacht Club and the Marina being used for launching etc are based in Kingswear, Devon. There are no hotels in Kingswear but there are the following B&Bs:

There are a many places to rent but it is likely that they will want one week bookings, although it is always worth asking. There are also hotels and B&Bs in Dartmouth a 5 minute ferry ride from Kingswear – please look at the Dartmouth Tourist Information Centre website www.discoverdartmouth.com which covers Kingswear, Dartmouth and the surrounding areas.
