Top Honours for Hayden’s Chilli
RDYC Chef Hayden Bennett scooped the "People's Choice" at the Chilli Cook-Off held in the Market Square, Dartmouth on Sunday 9th June.
The event, organised as a fund-raiser for the Dartmouth Food Festival, pitted 10 local chefs against each other in a competition to find the best Chilli (Meat or Veggie).
In glorious sunshine, a good crowd manfully downed generous samples of chilli, along with tortilla chips washed down with their drink of choice. The Royal Dart Yacht Club entry prepared and presented by Hayden was the overwhelming favourite of the voting public. The "professional" judges preferred the entry from the Royal Castle Hotel, but what do they know?
