The Royal Dart Yacht Club

Club Location and Facilities

RDYC Clubhouse

Situated just inside the entrance of the River Dart the Club has beautiful views towards the river entrance and across the river to Dartmouth.

The Club social facilities are designed to support a wide range of sailing and social activities. On the ground floor of the Clubhouse there is a large reception room and bar area with a small reading room attached and a meeting room nearby.

The waterside terrace outside the bar provides a wonderful further area to sit, eat and drink while enjoying the view of Dartmouth and activity on the river. Upstairs the Dining Room has seating for around 50 people in comfort while the Quarterdeck can hold around 100 for meetings, lectures and other social events.

Meals are available on most days of the week at lunchtime and in the evenings - ranging from bar snacks to a full à la carte menu in the Dining Room. The Club bar, catering and changing facilities are open to visiting yachtsmen and women. The main rooms are available for hire for weddings, meetings and private parties.

Moorings and Dinghy Storage

RDYC Pontoons and Dinghy storage

The River Dart offers shelter, whatever the weather and the Club has some 60 moorings for members - no visitors moorings unfortunately.

The Club has exclusive trot moorings for yachts and dayboats of up to 10m overall length. Small tenders can be stored in racks on a pontoon or ashore and a Bosun's Locker is available for storing oars and outboards. A scrubbing grid is available with water and mains electricity.

The latest Club Moorings plan and Moorings Application form are available as a pdf from the Downloads page.

Members and visitors may berth their yachts alongside the Club pontoon, provided they do not leave the premises. The Club launch serves the trot moorings on race days.

RDYC Opening Times

Entry access to the Club is as follows, but note there may be variations.

Insurance requirements require us to lock the clubhouse when our own staff or officers are not present. Access for all members can be obtained by use of a tiny electronic key fob available from the Assistant Secretary for a returnable deposit of £5.
